Our Founder

Pete Cammarano is the principal and founder of P.C. Government Strategies Firm.

As the only individual in New Jersey to have the honor and privilege of serving as Chief of Staff for two separate Governor's, Pete is a seasoned veteran of the inner workings of New Jersey’s Executive branch. Pete's most recent experience as Chief of Staff came under current New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. His prior service as Chief of Staff came under Governor Richard Codey.

During his time with the two Administrations, Pete was responsible for the management of the Governor's cabinet as well as all other Executive Branch Functions of the Governor's office. In his role as Chief of Staff, Pete also served as the Governor's Senior Advisor, managing and coordinating all legislative interactions. Pete played a crucial role in advising the Governor and the development and implementation of the Governor's agenda.

Since starting his political career over 32 years ago as Director of Public Affairs for the Department of Insurance during Governor Jim Florio's Administration, Pete has separated himself as a leader and a trusted voice in New Jersey politics.

After leaving the Department of Insurance, Pete began working for Senator Richard Codey.

Pete worked in the New Jersey Legislature for the next twenty years, earning a reputation for his hands-on approach to legislation and dependability among legislature members and their staff on both sides of the political spectrum. Pete served as Chief of Staff to former Senate President Richard Codey from 2002 to 2004 and again after his stint in the Governor's Office in 2006.

After leaving the legislature in 2006, Pete founded and built from the ground two of what would become some of New Jersey's most influential and successful lobbying firms. With over 12 years of lobbying experience, Pete has a deep understanding of the interworkings of the legislative process.

At the local level, Pete served on the borough council in his hometown of Metuchen, New Jersey, for eight years, three of which he spent as Council President. He was then elected Mayor of the borough, where he played a key part in starting the redevelopment of downtown Metuchen. Pete's term as Mayor lasted two years before leaving to serve as Governors Murphy’s Chief of Staff.

Along with his consulting business, Pete currently serves on the Board of Cannabis Education Research Institute (C.E.R.I.) and the Board of Directors for MDADVANTAGE.
